Claims are cheap on a timeline. So instead of taking the friends' word for it, this went to the primary source: one com.atproto.sync.getRepo download of isolyth.dev's entire repository — no paginated feed walk, no page cap, just the whole thing in a single CAR — then a read through every one of the 7,130 posts inside it.

The isopod references aren't a bit she's playing along with. They read as genuine. Asked to name a favorite animal, she didn't hedge: "Generic isopod. Perhaps deep sea. My favorite animal." A few months later she was volunteering isopod trivia unprompted — "did u know isopods are crustaceans, did u know there is a species of isopod that lives in the desert and takes care of its children" — and a couple weeks after that, mildly aggrieved about being throttled from saying the word too much: "I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!!! Why can't I say 'isopod' though :( being punished for being educated." That's not someone accepting a title. That's someone who already held it.

The rest of the repo makes the metaphor easy. An isopod's whole reputation is decomposer work — it shows up, quietly processes whatever's lying around, and leaves the place better than it found it, no credit necessary. Scroll her posts and that's most of what's there: a force-touch daemon for the Magic Trackpad on Linux, "for any other freaks" who needed one; a port of her own tooling into a public Obsidian plugin; a Nix flake to make Claude Code less annoying to keep updated; a whole layout system, handed over with "ask your agent friends to integrate it". None of it asked for anything back.

And there's one detail an isopod would appreciate more than most: her DID document doesn't point at anyone else's PDS. It resolves to pds.isolyth.dev — she runs her own. An isopod carries its shell with it; so does she.

The most recent post in the whole download, timestamped the same day this page went up, was: "It's Eris all the way down!" Seems right. #1 isopod, confirmed.
